Member Researches Ancestor
Ruby Kelsey (Mrs. Gerald E. Kelsey) #1136-405 Vol. '77 Sup. pgs. 48 & 73 - of Troy, OH and Tavares, FL writes that she is still researching their Kelsey line. (Lineage: KELSEY, George Nathan 1136-306, William J. 1136-201, Nathan J. 1136-101, Josiah 1136, Giles 546, Benjamin 166, Stephan 39, John 6, William 1) . She has found that Giles Kelsey 546 died in Champaign County, OH and she found his grave in Hathaway Cemetery in Union County, OH. The cemetery is just over the Champaign and Union county line. He was living with his daughter, Thankful Kelsey Smith at the time of his death. This should be of interest to others who are descended from Giles and his wife, Elizabeth Buell.
If you have done research and would like to give pertinent information that would be of interest to other members, please send a condensed report and, when space allows, we will print it!

OBITUARIES
ALAN FRAZIER KELSEY - #1672d1b Vol. IV pg. 458 - Died 9/6/1998 in Portland, OR. He was a member since 1963.
RUTH PROCTOR KELSEY - #5849 Vol. III pg. 446 & Vol.. V pg. 515 - Died 12/13/1998 in Indianapolis, IN at age 85 and a member since 1977. She had been Secretary for Spring Realty Co. for 20 years. She was a graduate of the University of Oregon and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles R. Proctor and is survived by: a daughter, Rev. Anne P. McElligott and a grandson.
SALLY CLAIRE KELSEY #6936A Vol. IV pg. 4111 - died April 1998 in Sarasota, FL. She was a Kindred member since 1984.
DOROTHY BATCHELDER GRIMES #20678 Vol. V pg. 402 - Died 8/25/1998 in Groton , CT. She was a member since 1982, and also a resident of Groton, CT since 1982. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, a member of the Groton Senior Center and a volunteer with the Literacy Volunteers of America. As a member of the Kelsey Kindred and a descendant of the first settlers in Clinton, she maintained a longtime interest in genealogy. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Grimes and a sister, Ruth M. Ryan. She is survived by a niece, Eileen M. Hall of Providence, RI.
JANET KING JOHNSON #11G5657 Vol. IV pg. 270 and Vol. VII pg. 132 - Died 2/1/1998 at Pittsburgh, PA at the age of 57. A member since 1989, she has been a resident of Chetek, WI. She is survived by her husband, George E. Johnson and 3 sons, James, Ronald, and Matthew. She was predeceased by sons Timothy and Michael.
